Freshman Admission

A freshman is a student who has not attended any college, university, technical or proprietary school after graduation from high school.

To enroll at Kent State Stark as a new freshman student, the following items are necessary to complete your application for admission:

  • Application for Admission
    (applying online is strongly encouraged)
  • $30 nonrefundable admission fee

  • College Prep Form
    (not required if you have been out of high school for 3 years or if you are over the age of 21)


  • Official high school transcript or official GED score report

  • ACT or SAT scores
    (not required if you have been out of high school for 3 years or if you are over the age of 21)

Official Transcripts
Transcripts are considered official only if they arrive in a sealed envelope from a high school, college or university. Transcripts issued directly to the student will be accepted only if the envelope is unopened. Once the envelope seal has been broken by someone other than a university employee, the transcript becomes unofficial.

Registration

For students admitted for Summer 2008: New students must complete COMPASS placement testing and meet with an academic advisor prior to registration. Contact the Office of Admissions at 330-499-9600 with questions.

For students admitted for Fall 2008: 2008 and 2007 high school graduates (who are not transfers) will register through SCORE. To learn more about registration, visit SCORE.
