Umstattd Hall is the permanent home of the Canton Symphony Orchestra and is located on the Canton McKinley High School campus.

Important Details for Graduates


Spring 2014 Graduation Fair - Campus Center
All your graduation needs in one convenient location!

  • Tuesday, March 4: 4:30 - 6:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, March 5: 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
Representatives from the following areas will be available:
  • Bookstore - purchase your Cap & Gown
  • Student Services - pick up your Commencement tickets (up to 8 per graduate)
  • Advising Services
  • Financial Aid
  • Career Services
  • Jostens


When to Arrive at Commencement

  • Time: 1:30 p.m.
  • Report to the Cafeteria
  • Staff will be there to direct you

There will not be a traditional graduation practice prior to Commencement. Graduates will be given detailed instructions when they arrive.


Attire
Graduates will wear the traditional cap and gown. Caps should be placed or pinned so that they appear flat on top of the head. Acceptable attire for under your gown should be professional dress. Jeans, shorts and sneakers should not be worn. Typically, male graduates wear dress pants, shirt and tie, and female graduates wear dresses, skirts or dress slacks and blouses. Suits are not necessary.


Ticket Information
Tickets are required for admission to the ceremony. Each graduate will be issued up to 8 tickets. Tickets will be available for pick-up at the Graduation Fair in the Campus Center on March 4 & 5.

Beginning March 6, tickets will be available for pick-up in the Office of Student Services until Friday, April 25 at 5 p.m. Any tickets not claimed by April 25 will be made available to graduates who need additional tickets. You can pick up additional tickets beginning Monday, April 28 in the Office of Student Services.


Caps & Gowns
Caps and gowns will be available for purchase at the Graduation Fair on March 4 & 5, then available to purchase in the Bookstore. Cost for the undergraduate cap, gown and tassel is $32 + tax. Master's degree regalia must be special ordered by March 5. Contact the Bookstore at 330-244-3202 for more information.


Announcements & Class Rings
A representative from Jostens will be at the Graduation Fair on March 4 & 5. Announcements and class rings must be special ordered through Jostens.


Diplomas
Diplomas are mailed to your permanent address 4-6 weeks after the commencement ceremony. You will not receive your actual diploma at Commencement. Please make sure your address is up to date in FlashLine. The name that will appear on your diploma is the name on your student academic record. This is the name that prints on your transcript, invoice, schedule, etc.

Diploma frames can be purchased through the Bookstore.
