Theatre Degrees
The School of Theatre & Dance provides students with liberal and professional education preparing them for careers in the performing arts as artists, scholars and educators. The theatre curriculum covers the areas of acting, directing, musical theatre, theatre history, criticism, script analysis, playwriting, technical production, scenery, lighting, costume design, make-up and theatre management.
Partial Degree Completion at Kent State Stark
Students can complete two years of coursework at Kent State Stark before transitioning to the Kent Campus to complete their theatre degree in the following areas:- B.A. Theatre Studies - Performance

Theatre Minors
The School of Theatre & Dance offers several minors. Students do coursework in acting, script analysis and design and technology.
Career Opportunities
Theatre majors prepare to become directors, playwrights, technicians, designers, performers, producers or business managers in community theatres, educational theatres, professional theatres and community recreational programs.Employment opportunities include work in stage plays, motion pictures, television productions and commercials, industrial promotion shows, repertory and summer stock companies, and dinner theatres. Theatre majors may also look toward teaching careers by pursuing certification through an appropriate graduate program.
