Bachelor of Science in Music Technology
Courses leading to this four-year degree are currently only offered at the Kent State Stark. This is an accredited degree program through the National Association of Schools of Music.
Bachelor of Music
Students can complete two years of study at Kent State Stark before transitioning to the Kent Campus to complete their degree.The Bachelor of Music is a professional degree and provides intensive specialization in one of the following areas: music composition, music education and instrumental, piano or vocal performance. The primary emphasis is on the development of the skills, concepts and sensitivity essential for those wishing to pursue music as a profession.

Bachelor of Music in Music Education
Students can complete two years of study at Kent State Stark before transitioning to the Kent Campus to complete their degree.The Bachelor of Music in Music Education, one of the most forward-looking curricula in the country, includes studies in jazz, folk, musical theatre and music of the entire world, while providing a strong grounding in Western art music. The program prepares students for Ohio licensure to teach music in grades K–12 and is recognized in most states. While receiving training in both areas, students specialize in the instrumental or choral/general concentrations.

Music Minors at Kent State Stark
Students can complete all requirements for the following minors at Kent State Stark.
- Audio Recording
The audio recording minor is designed to give students a strong foundation in the rapidly developing field of audio recording technologies. Couples with courses in music, the minor provides students with the necessary tools to be successful in studio equipment, techniques and standards.
- Music Technology/Production
The music technology minor is designed to give students a strong foundation in the rapidly developing field of music production and audio recording technologies. Coupled with courses in applied music, the minor provides students with the necessary tools to be successful in studio equipment, techniques and standards.
- Music
The music minor provides a basic understanding of music literature, theory and performance. Prospective minors must take a theory test and audition in voice or on a traditional orchestral/band instrument before beginning applied study.
- World Music
The world music minor program provides concentrated study of traditional and popular world music (style, performance, history, cultural associations and related arts). Students of any major can pursue this minor as part of their degree program.
