Pops Concert on March 11 to Benefit Stark ScholarshipsPosted Mar. 7, 2012
The Kent State University at Stark Music Department will present a Pops Concert on Sunday, March 11 at 3 p.m. in the Kent State Stark Fine Arts Theatre.
Tickets to the annual Pops Concert are $10 and all proceeds benefit Kent State Stark music and theatre scholarships. Admission is free to Kent State University students with a current ID, but tickets are required. Tickets may be obtained by visiting the Fine Arts Theatre Box Office or calling 330-244-3348, Monday through Friday, from 1 to 5 p.m. MasterCard, VISA and Discover are accepted.
The concert is performed by Kent State Stark students and faculty, along with community members. The event features a selection of various Stephen Schwartz songs, including When You Believe and Day by Day, in addition to theatrical favorites from Jekyll and Hyde, Les Misérables and Phantom of the Opera.
Performing ensembles include: the University Chorus, directed by Kenneth Kramer; the Kent State Stark Concert Band, conducted by Richard Kibler; the Lyric Theatre Workshop, directed by Melissa Davis; and the Studio Ensemble, directed by Erin Vaughn.
