Voice Recital by Melissa Davis on April 10

Kent State University at Stark presents the Melissa Davis Voice Recital on Saturday, April 10 at 7:30 p.m. in Main Hall Auditorium, 6000 Frank Avenue NW in Jackson Township. This event is free and open to the public. No tickets are required.
Davis’ recital will feature the classical music of Mozart, Hugo Wolf, Debussy, AndrĂ© Previn and Wilhelm Peterson-Berger. She will be accompanied by Philip Everingham on piano.
Davis has performed with Opera Cleveland, Opera Columbus, Akron Lyric Opera, The Ohio State University Opera and Kent State University Opera. Featured as a young artist, she has performed at the Asian International Opera Festival in Taiwan, as a company member of the Sugarcreek Symphony and Song Festival in Illinois and at Ohio’s Huron Playhouse. This summer, her vocal talent will be highlighted at the AIMS festival in Graz, Austria. She will soon perform with The Ohio State University Chorale at Carnegie Hall and will sing the roles of First Spirit and Pamina in Akron Lyric Opera’s production of The Magic Flute. Recent roles include: Rapunzel in Into the Woods, Adele in Die Fledermaus and Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro. Davis holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in vocal performance from Kent State University. She is currently pursuing a second master’s degree in vocal pedagogy and a certificate in singing health at The Ohio State University.
