Kent State Stark Presents a Concert to Benefit Music Scholarships
Posted Mar. 1, 2010The Kent State University at Stark Music Department will present the Rock the Pops concert on Sunday, March 14 at 3 p.m. in the Kent State Stark Fine Arts Theatre, 6000 Frank Avenue NW in Jackson Township.
Tickets to the annual Pops Concert are $10 and all proceeds benefit the Kent State Stark Music and Theatre Department Scholarship Funds. Admission is free to Kent State University students with a current ID, but reservations are required. Tickets and reservations may be obtained by calling the Kent State Stark Theatre Box Office at 330-244-3348, Monday through Friday, from 1 to 5 p.m. MasterCard, VISA and Discover are accepted.
The concert will feature tributes to The Beatles, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Smashing Pumpkins and more, performed by Kent State Stark students and faculty, along with community members. Performing ensembles include: The Lyric Theatre Workshop, directed by Kenneth C. Kramer; The Studio Ensemble, directed by Erin Vaughn; The Kent State Stark Concert Band, conducted by Dr. Patricia Grutzmacher; and The University Chorus, directed by Kenneth C. Kramer.
