Circulation
Lets eligible library users know what loan periods, fines, etc. are associated with materials borrowed from the library.

Library Laptops
The library has several laptop computers that students can check out and use within the building for doing library work in our wireless environment.

The library does charge to print in the library. A Flashcard is required. You can access your Flashcard account to put money on it using a credit card. You can use cash by visiting the Kent State Student Services office in Main Hall.

Opposing Viewpoints
Draws on the acclaimed social issues series published by Greenhaven Press, as well as core reference content from other Gale and Macmillan Reference USA sources to provide a complete one-stop source for information on social issues.

Standard & Poor's Industry Surveys
Provides industry information and economic trends on 52 major U.S. industries and quick reviews of conditions and the current investment perspective on more than 115 market sectors.

Legal reference resources from a variety of services for both federal and state legal matters.

Standalone

The following resources (primarily CD-ROMs) are only available in the Stark Campus Library. Eligible users must ask for these at the circulation desk. The software will be checked out to users for a two-hour time period and can only be used on a designated computer in the library.

Users on any Kent State University Campus have access to the following resources. In addition, users with home computers can set them up to connect to Kent's Proxy Server so that they can be accessed from home through an internet service provide (AOL, for example). To set up a home computer to connect to the Proxy Server follow these instructions.

ComAbstracts
Contains abstracts of articles published in the primary professional literature of the communication(s) field. No other electronic resource on the world wide web provides more comprehensive coverage of the communication discipline's scholarship.

Criminal Justice Abstracts
Contains comprehensive coverage of international journals, books, reports, dissertations, and unpublished papers on criminology and related disciplines.

Dictionary of Literary Biography
Includes essays on more than 6,000 authors and presents bibliographic information about each author's writings as well as sources for further reading.

JSTOR
An electronic archive of complete journal backruns, current to within 2 to 5 years.

Lexis/Nexis Academic Universe
An important service providing News, Business, Legal Research, and Medical information.

Lexis/Nexis Congressional Universe
Comprehensive service for U.S. legislative information.

Nature
Publishes original scientific research reports, review articles surveying recent developments in specific disciplines, short contributions, letters, and commentary.

OhioLINK

A wealth of information, much of it in full text, is available from the following OhioLINK resources. They are available from any Kent State University computer, as well as computers located at other OhioLINK member institutions. Central Catalog
Search and request materials from institutions of higher education across the state of Ohio.

Digital Media Center
Provides widespread access to images, sounds, video, numeric data, and other types of media information for the community and the world.

Electronic Journal Center
Provides full content from 1995 on to scholarly journals in different disciplines.

Electronic Reference Books Collection
Contains special-topic reference books ­ encyclopedias, handbooks, biographical collections, guides ­ from ABC-CLIO, an educational reference publisher.

Nearly 100 different databases (some containing full text) across a wide spectrum of subjects.

OhioLINK Database Usage Statistics
OhioLINK's Statistics Server provides searching and downloading information for each OhioLINK-provided database and separates those statsitics by KSU campus.
