The Kent State Stark Music Department offers all courses leading to a minor in music and the first two years of coursework leading to degrees in:

 

Students who have completed the first two years of music courses at Kent State Stark can easily transition to Kent Campus. Credits earned at Kent State Stark are transferable to other Universities.

Music Technology

The Kent State Music Department offers a complete four year program in music technology that is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music.

Performing Ensembles

Students experience diverse performing opportunities through involvement in:

  • University Chorus

  • Lyric Theater Workshop

  • Kent Stark Concert Band

  • Jazz Combo

  • Percussion Ensemble

  • Guitar Ensemble

  • Thai Ensemble


Career Opportunities

Opportunities available to graduates of the School of Music are numerous and varied. Kent State University alumni have outstanding records as classroom teachers, composers, performers, and band, orchestra, and choral conductors. Others choose careers in music retail, instrument repair, music administration, research, technology, music library work, and studio teaching.
